Josephine A. (Miozza) Pereira, 92, formerly of Somerset, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2017, at Southpointe Skilled Nursing, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was the wife of the late Edward R. Pereira, to whom she was happily married for 63 years, before his passing in 2011.

Born in Fall River, Josephine was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Moraglia) Miozza. Prior to her retirement in July 1987 Josephine was a seamstress for many years with Center Garment Company in Fall River.

Surviving her are her sisters-in-law Edith P. Medeiros of Fall River and Angelina Souza of Clinton, Maryland, her niece (godchild) Brenda-Lee Beaudry (husband Mark) of Fall River, her beloved "Guardian Angel" Darlene Morrisette (who was truly a blessing to both Edward and Josephine). Darlene's presence and kindness always brought such joy to Josephine.

She is also survived by a daughter Kathleen Beleda, two granddaughters, a great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Josephine is pre-deceased by her sister Ana Leite.

The family would like to thank the absolutely wonderful staff at Southpointe who not only cared for Josephine but made her a very special part of their family for the past seven years, along with the wonderful staff at Beacon Hospice.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 29th, in Holy Rosary Church followed by her committal at Nathan Slade Cemetery in Somerset.
