Joshua Joseph Papoula, 35, of Westport, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. Born in Fall River, the son of Manuel and Constantina (Almeida) Papoula of Westport, he resided in Westport most of his life.

He had worked for four years at Blount Fine Foods of Airport Road, Fall River. Prior to that he was employed in the car business as a wholesale manager. With his father having instilled in him a love of fishing since he was a small boy, Josh was a seriously avid fisherman – he even owned and operated his own fishing supply store, called JP's Bait and Tackle Shop, in Plymouth, for several years. He also loved sports and enjoyed rooting for the Bruins, the Red Sox, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Besides his parents, he leaves his sister, Monica Papoula of Westport, and his paternal grandmother, Jesuina (Almeida) Papoula of Fall River. He was the nephew of Robert Papoula of Fall River, Louisa Lopes (husband Daciel) of Swansea, Amanda Soares of Bristol, Theresa Resendes (late husband Antonio) of Dorchester, Lisa Sjursen (husband Chad) of Revere, and the late Al Papoula; and grandson of the late Jose Papoula, and the late Jose & Amanda (Santos) Almeida. He is also survived by many loving cousins, Melissa, Adam, Kevin, Mandy, Andrew, Melanie, Douglas, Kaylee, Rylee, and Myka.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 5th, in Espirito Santo Church. His private cremation followed.
