It is always difficult to say goodbye to our loved ones, so it is with a heavy heart that the Santos family bids farewell to Judite (Carvalho) Santos of Berkley, MA, who passed away on October 1, 2021. She was loved and cherished by many people. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she was surrounded by them when she passed.
Born in Mosteiros, Sao Miguel, Acores, a daughter of the late Francisco F. Carvalho and the late Maria (Sousa) Carvalho, she emigrated to Fall River in 1974. Prior to her retirement in 2018, she had worked for many years in the local textile industry, at the former Quaker Fabric, then at Walmart for a time, and at Charlton Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was beloved and will be missed.
Besides her husband, Serafim S. Santos, she is survived by: two children, Angela Santos of Berkley and and Ryan (fiancée Mariah) of Berkley; two grandchildren, Dexter and Abbey; six siblings, Germana Ferreira (husband Carlos), Margarida Florenca (husband Enoqure), Francisco J. Carvalho (wife Ilda), Isalia Santos Batista (husband Joao), Jorge Carvalho and Lucia Carvalho; parents-in-law, Serafim and Angelina Santos of Varzea, Sao Miguel, Acores; siblings-in-law, Joao Santos and Alberto Santos; and many nieces / nephews, great nieces/nephews, and cousins. She was also a sister-in-law of the late Leonel Santos.
Following a private cremation Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, October 15th, at St. Bernard Church in Assonet.
