Obituary

JUDITH (CORREIRA) REIS, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2026, after a brief
illness related to long-term pulmonary disease. She was born in Fall River, third of five children
to the late Joseph and Georgina (Paschoal) Correira, and had been happily married for 40 years
to her late husband, Americo "Mac" Reis.

Judy was educated in local schools where she loved to learn and then graduated from St. Anne's
Nursing School. As a registered nurse, she worked at St. Anne's Hospital and, for many years, as
the office nurse of then Chief of Surgery, Dr. Joseph J. Shea, where she compassionately cared
for her patients until her retirement.

Judy loved traveling to many countries sharing beautiful memories with Mac and their dear
friends. She was a passionate reader who loved to devour books, particularly psychological
thrillers, and relished the challenge of crossword puzzles and Sudoku. She thoroughly enjoyed
playing mahjong and card games, especially bridge, cribbage and hi-low-jack. She never missed
an episode of Jeopardy!

She and Mac were avid golfers at their home course, Estero Country Club, at The Vines in
Estero, Florida, where she resided with Mac from 1999 until she moved back home in November
2025. Her favorite pastime was relaxing at the beach. She demonstrated daily the essence of
unconditional love to her beloved family members and friends.

Left to cherish Judy's memory are her devoted daughter Pamela Morgan (William), stepchildren
Christine Melo (Manuel) and Randall Reis (Christine), grandchildren Taylor England, Sienna
Morgan, Mackenzie and Kiersten Reis, sister Patricia Correira, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Alice Amaral, Joyce Correira and Joseph F. Correira. She
will always be remembered as a fun-loving and generous friend, especially to her extended
family at The Vines, and other dear and lifelong friends.

Her Cremation was private.

On Saturday, March 28th, relatives and friends gathered at our Fall River Chapel where                                                                                                    they shared some informal and interactive musings and memories including a Nightingale                                                                                            Tribute performed by the South Coast Nurse Honor Guard. Conventions were truly left at
the door as everyone dressed comfortably and colorfully to honor a beautiful life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Salvation Army, St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project in Judy's memory.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person                                                                          expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of health concerns                                                                                or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that                                                                                said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that                                                                                submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website (www.silvafaria.com)                                                                            and not through a third party. Thank you!
