On May 23rd, 2015 our beloved Kimberly Rapoza lost her courageous two and half year battle with leukemia. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her closest family and friends. She is the daughter of Marie Joan Jordan and the late Glenn Eugene Jordan. Kimberly is the younger sister of Dawn Marie Jordan. She is the proud mother of Glenn Patrick and Shawn Michael; the grandmother to Chace Patrick and the step grandmother to William Sobreiro . She excitedly anticipated the birth of her grandson, due in August 2015. Kimberly will honor both Lori Nogueira, fiancée of Glenn Patrick, and Jessica Costa, fiancée of Shawn Michael as their mother in law, upon the days they wed.
Kimberly was a driven and passionate woman, who embraced the simplest beauties of life; family, hard work and gardening. To know her was to love her. The intrinsic beauty in who she was came from the love she gave to others in her life. She was selfless in every relationship she embraced. As a Mom, she tirelessly and diligently lived her life to provide for " her boys". She spent her days effortlessly trying to ensure their happiness and help them achieve their dreams. She often described the primary purpose of this earthly journey was solely driven by the gift she had received, when she became a parent to Glenn and Shawn. Her love for her children was evident, throughout her journey. It was most apparent during the end stages of her life, when she battled fiercely with her children as her motivation.
In addition to Kim's dedication as a mother, she always delivered a passionate commitment to everyone she loved. As a family member or friend, you knew that Kim would listen when needed, laugh with you, cry with you or just simply be by your side.
Upon receiving her Associates Degree, she pursued a long career in health services. Throughout her years as a phlebotomist, she brought smiles to all those she worked alongside. Many of the patients she served were residing in nursing home settings and homebound. They often shared how blessed they were to begin their day with the compassion only Kim seemed able to deliver.
Until we are all together again, we will honor Kim's memory with the knowledge that love truly is the gift that provides meaning in this life.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr. Gerald Barnwell on Friday, May 29th in Holy Rosary Church.
