Laudalina M. Cambra, 79, of Fall River, widow of Joseph Cambra, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Catholic Memorial Home after a long illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Tomaz Correia de Oliveira and the late Paula (Moniz de Sousa) de Oliveira, she lived in Fall River most of her life.

She worked in the local textile industry for many years, employed at Woodland Manufacturing then Newport Harbor, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (now called UNITE). Laudalina and her husband, prior to his passing in 2015, had enjoyed travelling to Florida, the Azores & Portugal, going on cruises, attending local feasts, and having family cookouts, as well as dining out with family & friends.

She was the mother of 8 children, 6 of whom will continue their journey without her, and the proudest grandmother of 15, and great grandmother of 7 … daughter, Pauline Fitzgerald, and her spouse James, their twin boys Austin & Tyler; daughter, Anne Marie Cambra-Bernier, and her children Zack & Emma; son, William T. "Billy" Cambra, Sr., and his spouse Kris, their boys Billy Jr. & Kevin Joseph; son, Joey Cambra, his children Amanda Cambra, Trisha Cambra, Tonya Stanton & Carmine Cambra, and Joey's 5 grandchildren; son, Eric Cambra, and his spouse Sandra; son, Paul Cambra, who predeceased her, has daughters Krystal & Alysa Cambra; daughter, Debra Ponte, and her spouse Emanuel, her sons Robert Cambra & Aaron Pedro; son, Peter F. Cambra, who predeceased her, has a son Peter A. Cambra (his spouse Crystal) & their children Lily & Roman. She was also a sister of Emanuel de Oliveira, Dorinha "Dora" DaRosa, Zita Pacheco, Denaria "Ana" Rodrigues, and Lillianna Oliveira, and the late Pedro Correia. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with strict adherence to state mandates designed to mitigate the spreading of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). All will be required to wear masks (covering both nose and mouth) and to maintain social/physical distancing while in the funeral home – with patience and understanding appreciated, in light of current building occupancy limits.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 21st, in Santo Christo Church followed by a private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
