Laurina (Carvalho) Pacheco, 93, of Fall River, formerly of Pitman St., died on May 20, 2008 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Jose Tavares Pacheco. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Francisco da Costa and Maria de Conceicao (Pimentel) Carvalho, she emigrated to Fall River in 1968. She worked as a machine operator for Quaker Fabric until her retirement in 1981 and was proud to have become a U.S. Citizen in 1996. A parishioner of Espirito Santo Church, she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. Laurina was the beloved mother Jose Tavares Pacheco (wife Maria) of Somerset, and Maria Rodrigues (husband Agostinho) of Fall River, loving grandmother of Jeff Pacheco (companion Lori St. Clair) and Kenny Pacheco, both of Somerset, Nancy Resende (husband Nelson) and Gary Rodrigues (wife Sara), both of Fall River, caring great grandmother of Benjamin & Brendan Resende, and the aunt of several nieces and nephews. Also sister of the late Francisco da Costa Carvalho, Augusto da Costa Pimentel, Elvira Carvalho, Maria Camara, Mariana Soares and Helena Pavao. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at Espirito Santo Church. Pallbearers Jeff and Kenny Pacheco, Gary Rodrigues, Nelson Resendes Victor Pimentel and Franciso Carvalho brought Laurina to her final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
