Laurina Torres' Obituary
Laurina (DeSousa) Torres, the devoted wife to her husband of 40 years, Antonio Torres, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the age of sixty, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores, and was a daughter of the late Manuel DeSousa and Luzia (Adolfo) DeSousa.
She had always been a tirelessly hard-working wife, mother & grandmother. In her younger years she was a machine operator until the birth of her daughter, then decided to become a full time homemaker in order to be able to enjoy the time she had watching her daughter grow up.
In addition to her husband, Antonio, she was the beloved mother of her daughter Jennifer Torres, incredible Mother-In-Law to Jennifer's husband, Dennis Morissette of Rhode Island, and an absolutely amazing Grandmother to her two beautiful grandchildren, Athena and Dennis Morissette, Jr.
She was the kind & caring sister of:
Guilherme & his Wife Genoveva DeSousa, of Somerset
Jose & his Wife, Fatima DeSousa, of Fall River,
Antonio & his Wife, Fatima DeSousa, of Fall River
Manuel & his Wife, Maria DeSousa, of Fall River
Luis & his Wife, Laurina DeSousa, of Fall River
Maria Helena & her Husband, Jose Aguiar, of Fall River
Maria Jose & her Husband, Antonio Serodeo, of Somerset,
Odilia & her Husband, Antonio Carvalho, also, of Fall River.
And last, but never least, she was the Daughter-In-Law to Dorothea Torres & the late Antonio R Torres, of Fall River, Massachusetts,
and Sister-In-Law to Clotilde & her Husband Paul Cabral of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Who will all, always deeply miss her.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on
Wednesday, September 19th, in
St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Her daughter asks in her Beloved Mother's loving memory, that we all remember to love one another & cherish the short time we have together. To always try & show each other compassion & forgiveness. Because as brothers & sisters of God, we are all perfectly imperfect.
Life is much too short. Therefore live & forgive, like you could die tommorow. But LOVE, always love, like you will live forever.
