Laurinda (Morgado) Rezendes, 85, of 972 Pine St, widow of David M. Rezendes, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 after a long illness. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, daughter of the late Luis N. & Apolonia (da Silva) Morgado, she emigrated to Fall River in 1961. Employed in the local textile industry for many years until her retirement in 1985, she was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making much of her own clothing. Mother of Carlos Rezendes of Tiverton, Victor Rezendes, Fatima Damaso & Lucy Cabral all of Fall River, and Laurinda Teves of Westport. Sister of Maria Garcia of Somerville, Etelvina Viveiros of New Bedford and the late Manuel Morgado. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers were Scott Cabral, Bob and Chris Rezendes, Jordan Teves, Antonio Morgado and John Viveiros. Her committal service was held at St. Patrick Cemetery.
