Obituary

Leodore "Leo" Edmond St. Pierre, 92, of Berkley, husband of the late Doris (Sicard) St. Pierre, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at home. Born in Fall River, a son of the late William St. Pierre and the late Valeda (Ouellette) St. Pierre, he had lived in Swansea for 30 years prior to residing in Berkley for the past 26 years.

A police officer for the Town of Swansea for many years, retiring as a Sergeant and court liaison officer in 1991, he was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, and active with the Police Athletic League. A WWII Navy veteran, he was proud to have served his country, seeing action in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, and was a member of the American Legion Post 303 of Swansea. Leo had always enjoyed running, and would often run 5 miles per day, well into his 60s.

He is survived by: three children, Patricia Ann Noonan of Nashua NH, Susan Habelt (husband Stephen) of Berkley, and Michelle Benoit (husband Paul) of Swansea; a sister, Priscilla Knight of Fall River; seven grandchildren, John, Kevin, Erin, Nicole, Scott, Kimberly, and Mark; 12 great grandchildren, Kelly, Kyle, Kayla, Avery, Gavin, Rowan, Liana, Jocelyn, Madison, Alessandra, Katelyn, and Brayden; 1 great great grandson, Nicholas; and many nieces & nephews. He was also brother of the late Oscar St. Pierre, Rita Mello, Idola Berube, Antoinette Chasse, Eugene St. Pierre, Arthur St. Pierre, William St. Pierre Jr, and Ronald St. Pierre.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, November 20th, in St. Louis de France Church in Swansea followed by his committal with military honors at Fox Cemetery in Berkley.
