Leonard Baker, Sr., 80, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, a son of the late Joseph William Baker and the late Carrie Viola (Thomas) Baker, he lived in Fall River most of his life.
He was employed at Taco Comfort Solutions, in Fall River, for 30 years, retiring in 2011. He had also worked part-time as a bartender for 40 years. He loved to laugh and spend time with family. He enjoyed going to the casinos and fishing – he also enjoyed his K.F.C, Dunkin' and hot dogs.
Along with his beloved partner of 45 years, Helen 'Jackie' Luz, he is survived by: his children, Joy Carrie Luz-Mouronho (husband Paul), Joseph Leonard Reed (wife Melissa), Leonard Baker, Jr., (late wife Noreen), Kimberly Renee Reed, and stepson, Cory Peter Luz; a sister, Carmelita Hairston of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Jynathaen Mouronho (his "Main Man"), Leyshonna Reed, Shana & Lauren Baker, Breanna & Michael Knight; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. He was also the stepfather of the late Randel Conroy; and brother of the late Pastor Kathleen Moore formerly of Eastern Shore, MD, Josephine Williams formerly of Baltimore, MD, and Joseph Baker, Jr., formerly of Yonkers, New York.
Prior to his cremation, a visitation period was held on Wednesday, December 1st, in our Fall River Chapel.
