Leonardo Pereira, 63, of Fall River, husband of Maria Eduarda (Almeida) Pereira passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose Caetano Pereira and the late Gilda Oliveira (de Brum) Pereira.
Prior to his illness, he worked as a construction worker for Robert's Commercial Construction for many years. He loved playing the saxophone and being a part of the St. Cecilia Band. An avid Sporting fan, he loved all things soccer and watching his team play against the rival teams—Benfica and FC Porto. Most importantly, Leonardo relished the time he spent with his family, especially his granddaughters Layla and Nora who meant the world to him.
Besides his devoted wife, he leaves his loving children, Kathy Pereira and her fiancé, Scott, of Fall River, Kevin Pereira and his fiancé Amalia, of Fall River; his granddaughters Layla and Nora Silva; siblings, Jose Antonio Pereira and his wife Margarida, of Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, Eduardo Pereira and his wife Rita, of Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, Luis Pereira and his wife Alda, of Canada, Antero Pereira (late wife Rita), of Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, Joao Pereira and his wife Ana Paula, of Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, Valter Pereira and his wife Carla, of Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, and Mario Jorge Pereira and his wife Susana, of London, England; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral was celebrated on Tuesday, November 25th, in Santo Christo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
