Leonel S. Santos, 46, of Berkley, passed away Wednesday after a brief illness. He was the husband of Isalia C. (Carvalho) Santos, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage. Born in Varzea, St. Michael, Azores, son of Serafim & Angelina (Estrela) Santos of St. Michael, Azores. He was the owner and operator of Leonel Landscaping in Berkley and greatly enjoyed farming. Survivors include daughters, Andrea Santos and Amy Santos, both of Berkley; brothers, Serafim Santos of Berkley, Alberto Santos of Somerset and Joao Santos of Fall River; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends and family gathered on Saturday (1/9) for a funeral Mass in St. Bernard's Church. Following the service, pallbearers brought Leonel to his final resting place in Notre Dame Cemetery.
