Leonor C. Diogenes, 89, of Somerset, wife of the late Manuel S. Diogenes, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 after a long illness.

Born in Porto Formoso, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel deMedeiros deCarvalho and the late Francisca (Moniz) deCarvalho.

In 1968, she emigrated to the United States and worked at the former Louis Hand and Bomark before, together with her husband, starting their own business in the late 1970's, Diogenes Cleaning Service.

Leonor loved baking, especially making her delicious biscoitos and rice pudding. She also enjoyed traveling and taking her grandchildren to Disney World.

She leaves: her loving children, Eduarda Diogenes and her husband, Daniel, of Swansea, Armanda DeMelo and her husband, Val, of Somerset, Mary Bonanca and her husband, Joe, of Westport, and Eduardo Diogenes and his wife, Helena, of Florida; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel, Angelo, Conceicao, Rosarinha, Rosa, Edalina, Maria and Estrela.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 23rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
