Leontina A. Cordeiro, 90, of Fall River, widow of Evaristo Cordeiro, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Santo Antonio, Alem Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Antonio Soares Raposa and the late Maria Espirito Santo Raposo, she emigrated to Fall River in 1973.

She was employed in the local garment industry for several years, retiring from the former Shelburne Shirt in 1979. Leontina enjoyed cooking, and spending time with family.

She is survived by: five children, Natalia Carreiro of France, Cidalia Pereira (husband Louis) of Fall River, John Cordeiro (wife Connie) of Westport, Carlos Cordeiro (wife Donna) of Fall River, and Isabel Lima (husband Bobby) of Warwick, R.I.; four siblings, Guilherme Soares Raposa, Belmira Soares Raposa, Norvinda Soares Raposa, and Noah Sores Raposa all of St. Michael, Azores; twelve grandchildren, Susana, Philip, Sara, Stephanie, Kelly, Jason, Sean, Jessica, Jennifer, Adrianna, Jeremy, and Jordan; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Ana Maria Cordeiro; and a sister of the late Carolina Soares Raposa, Tiberio Soares Raposa, and Antonio Soares Raposa.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Friday, December 23, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Continued mask-wearing is urged for those who are immuno-compromised or not vaccinated.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at 8:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
