Leontina M. Medeiros, 71, of Fall River, widow of Manuel J. Medeiros, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at home surrounded by family after an illness. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose Ernest Pavao and the late Maria Conceicao (Matos) Pavao, she emigrated to Fall River in 1971 and attended night school to learn English.

She was employed in the local textile industry for many years, retiring from the former Whaling Mfg. Leontina loved the beach, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and watching her Spanish soap operas.

She is survived by: two children, Christina Cabral (husband Mario) of Fall River and Scott Medeiros (companion Stacy Manchester) of Fall River; three siblings, Maria Jose Medeiros of Westport, Antonio Manuel Pavao of Swansea, and Connie Pavao Almeida of Fall River; four grandchildren, Alexis Cabral, Tyler Cabral, Trinity Medeiros, and Erik Medeiros; and many nieces and nephews, Leontina was also a sister of the late Irene Ferreira.
