Lila J. Shaker, 91, of Fall River, wife of Shaker J. Shaker, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, Ma, she was a daughter of the late Frahat and Josephine (Rafoul) Hebshie. Early on, Lila worked as a teacher's aide in the Fall River School system for many years prior to her retirement. She spent the rest of her years as a homemaker, a position she was most proud of.  She truly loved her Lebanese heritage which extended into her passion for ethnic cooking and Arabic dancing.  Lila also enjoyed traveling with her husband, going on cruises, and socializing with friends and relatives on a regular basis. A long-time parishioner of St. Anthony of the Desert Church, she was also a member of its Woman's Guild. Besides her husband of more than sixty-five years, she leaves: her children, Jeff A. Shaker and his wife Patti of Somerset, Gary J. Shaker of Somerset and his companion Dennise Lambert, and Kristine A. Shaker of Swansea and her companion David M. Ricci ; five grandchildren, Bethany Shaker, James Cornelison, Ryan Shaker, Connor Cornelison, and Brody Shaker; two brothers, Frederick Hebshie and his wife Essie and John Hebshie, both of Brockton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late James Hebshie, Samuel Hebshie, Edward Hebshie, Alma Hinglebine, Mary Ball, Barbara Daly, Helen Henry, and Nancy Dastous. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 9th, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by celebration of this lovely woman's life in the Church Center.
