Lillian M. Paulo, 88, of Swansea, wife of the late Daniel Paulo, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Fall River, Lillian was the daughter of the late James Thorpe and the late Lillian L’Heureux. Throughout her 88 years, she achieved many milestones, including graduating with her GED at 62 and completing her AA at 65. She was truly adventurous, delighted in traveling across the United States with her husband, collecting state pins as treasured momentos, spending winters in Florida, and enjoying time at their cabin in Maine—where they both made maple syrup for family and friends.
Lillian could do anything she set her mind to. She was an exceptional seamstress, creating wedding dresses from scratch, and she even sewed new uniforms for the Case High School band in the 1990s. She also loved baking and was especially known for making the best frosting.
Above all, Lillian cherished her family and loved spending time with them, particularly her grandchildren.
Lillian is survived by her children, Kathleen Scallon and her husband Edwin of Somerset; Linda Dugas of Somerset; Daniel Paulo and his fiancé Lisa Koontz of Lakeville; Steve J. Paulo (late wife Debra Ann) of Somerset; and Jo-Anne Paulo of Swansea. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Lillian is further survived by her siblings, Joanne Mello of Somerset and Gerald Thorpe of Fall River; her dear friend Phil Sanchez of Swansea; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings James Thorpe, Anita Davis, and Madeline Bessette.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Visitation to be held in Silva-Faria SOMERSET Funeral Home, 84 County Street, Somerset, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. from Silva-Faria SOMERSET Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m.in the Silva Faria SOMERSET Funeral Home, Somerset. Committal Service and interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
