Lillian Tooley, 92, of Taunton, wife of the late Jerrold L. Tooley, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Country Gardens Nursing Home in Swansea on June 6, 2019.  Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Gil) Wahl, she was the youngest of their ten children. She worked as a hairdresser for most of her life and then as an assembler at Texas Instruments for close to ten years prior to her retirement. She loved cooking, especially Polish foods, knitting, crocheting and playing bingo.  Lillian was an active volunteer at the Taunton Council on Aging where she offered knitting lessons, receiving recognition and acknowledgement from the Massachusetts Senate for the time she shared as a volunteer.  Lillian was very active in local (Taunton) politics, campaigning for candidates in her district. She was also a member of the Silver City Seniors and a volunteer for Wise Elderly, an organization that assists people with learning disabilities. Lillian very much enjoyed her annual trips to visit her son and his family in Florida and venturing off on her Senior bus trips. She leaves: her children, Peter Sliwa and his wife, Madeleine, of Florida, and Katherine Medeiros and her husband, Joseph, of Somerset; four grandchildren, Peter Jay Sliwa, Dawn Colando, Deborah Kloch, and Christine Marshall; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kirsten, Amanda, Nicklaus, Aaron, Jason, Nathan, Noah, and Madison; one great-great-granddaughter, Gracelyn; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by all her siblings. Her Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, June 11th, in our Somerset Chapel followed by her committal at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in Taunton.
