Lino Maciel Amaral, 96, husband of the late Matilde C. (Jesus) Amaral, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in the village of St. Antonio on the island of Pico in the Azores, he was a son of the late Jose P. & Maria J. (de Bem) do Amaral. A lifelong resident of the Azores, having recently lived in Fall River only a short while, he worked as a barber most of his life and enjoyed biking & fishing. He is survived by: a daughter, Donalda A. Silva (husband Francisco); a brother, Joaquim M. Amaral; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was also father of late Lina A. Lopes, and brother of the late Francisco Silveira & Jose M. Amaral. Following calling hours at our Fall River Chapel on Thursday, February 4th, he was shipped to the island of Pico in the Azores for his Funeral Mass and burial in his hometown cemetery.
