Lori Casavant, age 47, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away at St. Luke's hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Born in April of 1963 at the St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Mary G. (Lacombe) Casavant and the late Arnold E. Casavant. Although born in Fall River, Lori was raised in Tiverton, Rhode Island, and educated in the Tiverton School System. In 1981, she welcomed her first son, William LaJoie, and her youngest child, Brian LaJoie, was born in 1984. She moved to California in 1986 where she provided for her young family by working as an office assistant for a local contractor. Returning to New England in 1989, she enrolled in college, worked as a secretary at the Newport Navy Base, and earned her Associates Degree in 1992. Her life's journey would lead her through Tiverton, Providence, Fall River, California & New Hampshire, Taunton, Whitinsville, Westport, and back to Fall River. Along the way she experienced many and various employment positions as she pursued part time employment, held several office jobs, waited tables, and was a home health care worker. Her favorite occupation, however, was afforded to her in those times between paying jobs when she held the post of a "stay at home Mom" to the boys she loved. Lori enjoyed fishing, cats, movie thrillers, true crime books, vacationing, listening to Fleetwood Mac and spending time with dear friends. In addition to her sons William and Brian LaJoie, both of Fall River, surviving family members include two sisters; Geraldine Hebert of Fall River, and Roxanne McGlynn of Tiverton, RI, two brothers; Arnold Casavant of Chelsea, MA, and Paul Casavant of Tiverton, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Ronald Casavant. At the family's request, Service Arrangements with the Silva Faria Funeral Homes were private.
