Obituary

Lorraine M. Emard, 91, of Somerset, widow of Stanislaus Emard, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Antonio Correia and the late Maria (Pacheco) Correia, she resided in Somerset most of her life.

She had worked as an administrative secretary in the local textile industry for a number of years in her younger days. A church choir member, Lorraine loved singing & dancing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her weekly trips to the casino.

She is survived by: two children, Jacqueline Davis (husband Chris) of No. Dartmouth, and Christopher Emard of Somerset; a brother, Alfred Correia of Somerset; four grandchildren, Pillip Emard, Janine Mercer, Shelby Emard, and Evan Davis; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, and Kaitlan; and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was also the mother of the late Anthony P. Emard; and sister of the late Hilda Boudreau, Adeline Galhardo, Ida Medeiros and Manuel, Ernest, Daniel, John, Herbert, and Arthur Correia.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, June 7th, in Our Lady of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Church in Somerset followed by a private committal service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
