Obituary

Louis Amaral, 82, of Fall River and husband of Urania (Dias) Amaral, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Gabriel Amaral and the late Gloria (Carreiro) Amaral.

Prior to retirement, he co-owned Urania's Clothing with his wife for many years. A very proud American, he loved his Country, listening to the legendary music of Elvis Presley, and simply being home and spending quality time with his wife and family. But most notably, he was a kind, compassionate and social man who was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his wife of over fifty years, he leaves his children, Paula Schenck and her husband, Robert, of Fall River, Louis Amaral, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Somerset and Leonard Camara, of Fall River; his seven grandchildren, Lelynd Hizer, Xander Schenck, Koen Schenck, Steven Camara, Logan Amaral, Jocelyn Vieira, and David Souza; his five great-grandchildren, Gemma Camara, Imbiana Amaral, Ellington Amaral, Brieanna Vieira and Braeleigh Vieira; one sister, Zulmira Fournier; his extended family and caregivers, Manuela Rego and Karin Camara; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 17th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by a private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Louis's Memory to: St. Anthony of Padua Church, 48 Sixteenth Street, Fall River, MA 02723.
