Louis S. Furtado, 84, of Fall River, husband of Gilberta S. (Arruda) Furtado, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel S. Furtado and the late Elsie S. (Silva) Furtado, he emigrated to Fall River in 1953.

Prior to his retiring in 1999, Louis was employed for 30 years with the former Reed & Barton of Norton. He loved watching sports, rooting for all the New England professional sports teams, but was especially fond of the Red Sox (his beloved second family), then the Celtics. A longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Louis was a former collector for a number of years.

Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by a son, John L. Furtado of Fall River.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 5th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
