Louis Rapoza, 87, of Fall River, husband of Aldina (Nicolau) Rapoza, died on February 1, 2010 at home after a brief illness. Born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel & Angelina (Moniz) Rapoza, he was a lifelong resident of Fall River and was also known as "Cisco" in his younger days. A retired state and city department of public works employee, he had also worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. A World War II Army veteran, he was awarded the Silver Star in recognition of his combat valor & "for conspicuous gallantry in action." An avid traveler, he enjoyed playing bingo & family gatherings. Besides his wife, of 64 years, survivors include: 2 children, Ronald Rapoza (wife-Karen) of Lincoln RI & Eileen Santos (husband-Gregory) of Westport; 2 grandchildren, Lori Hartley & Keith Rapoza; many nieces & nephews. He was also brother of the late George Rapoza. On His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Anthony of Padua Church. Committal services with military honors followed at St Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Rapoza, Greg Santos, Peter Hartley, Richard and Robert Fournier.
