Louis V. Medeiros, 76, of No. Dartmouth, formerly of Portsmouth and Fall River, died Wednesday unexpectedly. Husband of the late Ruth Ann (Borge) Medeiros. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Jose V. and Mary (Nogueira) Medeiros. A life insurance agent, he had worked for Prudential and Boston Mutual. He retired from UPS in 1996 and went to work part time at the Sears hardware department in Dartmouth. Lou was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include: his children, Judy Messenger (husband-David) of Tiverton and Michael L. Medeiros of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Nancy Aldrich (husband-Craig), Andrea and Sarah Messenger and Matthew Horzesky; great grandchildren, Jamison, Ethan and Zachary; siblings, Dr. Joseph V. Medeiros, Gloria V. Pereira and John V. Medeiros and several nieces and nephews. He also had been the husband of the late Louise (Carvalho) Holt, formerly Medeiros and brother of the late Thomas M. Medeiros. On Wednesday, July 7, friends and family gathered for his Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Following the service, pallbearers David Messenger, Craig Aldrich, Jason Medeiros, John Medeiros, John Carvalho, and Matthew Horzesky brought Louis to his final resting place in St. Patrick Cemetery.
