Lubelia "Bella" Lopes, 83, of South Dartmouth, wife of Joseph S. Lopes, Jr., passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born in Ponta Delgada St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jack Sylvia and the late Ana (Souza) Sylvia.

She worked in the local textile industry at Amie-Lyn Draperies for many years and was also employed as a childcare worker at the Naval Education Training Center (NETC) for about ten years. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Bella enjoyed floral design and traveling with her husband.

Besides her husband, of 63 years, she is survived by: two children, Debra Ann Lopes of South Dartmouth and Joseph Brian Lopes (wife Lisa) of Seekonk; three siblings, Alfred Silvia of Westport, Palmira Moniz of Dartmouth, and Jack Sylvia of Berkley; four grandchildren, Justin Lopes, Korey Lopes, Victoria Niles, and Hanna Lopes; and several nieces and nephews. Bella was also a sister of the late Constance Rego.

Her Funeral Service was held on Monday, December 18th, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel. A Private Cremation followed.
