Lucia Paiva Nogueira, 74, of Fall River, wife of Norberto S. Nogueira, passed away at home on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Ribeirinha, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Mariano Raposo Paiva and the late Belmira Oliveira Alves, she emigrated to Fall River in 1971.

She worked in the local textile industry for many years, first at Quaker Fabric then at Whaling Mfg. Lucia also worked for a number of years at Somerset Ridge / Genesis Healthcare. She loved travelling, especially cruises, and enjoyed cooking, baking, and the outdoors. Lucia was also fond of her many "granddogs," but Minnie was her favorite.

Besides her husband of almost 55 years, she is survived by: three children, Maria Nagpal of Fall River, Janice Teixeira of Marshfield, and Kelly Estrela (husband Kevin) of Fall River; six sisters, Alda Garcia of New Bedford, Conceicao Freitas and Lourdes Bravo both of Canada, Belmira Arruda of St. Michael, Azores, Goretti Moniz of Fall River, and Ana Melo of Swansea; a grandson, Yorik Sajbin; and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 8th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
