Lucille Cabral, 93, of Fall River, widow of John M. Cabral, Jr., passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Carreiro and the late Francelina (Medeiros) Reis (formerly Carreiro).
Having first been employed for a number of her younger years in the local textile industry, Lucille then worked as a telephone operator for many years with New England Telephone (now Verizon) – retiring in 1991. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Parish where she enjoyed volunteering, served as a eucharistic minister, and was a member of the Women’s Guild.
Lucille loved to dance with her beloved husband, Johnny. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and bingo, and cheering on the Red Sox and Celtics. She lived a full life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, close relatives, and lifelong friends; and treasured gathering with them around a dinner table to share stories and laughter.
She is survived by: two daughters, Brenda A. Pavao of Fall River and Francine Roy of Portsmouth, RI; eight grandchildren, Jill Rivers (husband Brian), Derek Cabral, Allison Berube, Ryan Cabral, Corey Cabral, Kiara Pereira (husband Jonathon), Benjamin Roy, and Simon Roy; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey John Cabral, and brother, Edward Carreiro.
The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Catholic Memorial Home and Southcoast VNA hospice for the compassionate care they gave Lucille.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 9:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered in Holy Trinity Parish Church at 10:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
