Luis Roberto
Medeiros
d. May 28, 2024
Luis Roberto Medeiros, 58, of Fall River, long-time companion of Ana Paula Almeida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in the comforts of his home following a long illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Luis "Felipe" Torres Medeiros and the late Berta (Pereira) Medeiros.
Prior to his retirement, due to his illness, he was proprietor and manager of Aguatown Realty for many years. An avid New England sports fan, he also loved coaching, collecting baseball cards, coins and other collectibles. In his younger days, he played softball and for many years, until his illness, refereed for various soccer leagues in Southeastern Massachusetts. Luis was a talented artist from a very young age and throughout his life created many religious, sports, and music-themed works.
Most important to Luis was spending quality time with his family, especially his two greatest accomplishments in life, his boys. He loved spending time with them, coaching their youth sports teams when they were younger, fostering their interest in collecting cards and coins, and going fishing with them. In spite of life's many obstacles, Luis continually remained steadfast in showing his unwavering love and commitment to them and considered himself blessed in having been able to see his boys grow strong and successfully establish themselves in this world. In his last year, when going for those rides he so loved, he continually pointed out the places he had taken his boys on some activity and his various fishing holes. Luis also greatly enjoyed socializing with his extended family and friends, cruises, and traveling to such places as Florida, Canada, and back to his homeland in the Azores.
Besides his devoted and loving companion of twelve years, whom he dearly loved and admired, he leaves his two sons, Brandon Medeiros and Jordon Medeiros, both of Fall River; his sisters, Humberta St. Louis and her husband, Paul, and Grace Kipp and her husband, William, both of Fall River; his companion Ana's sons, Derek Almeida, Ryan Almeida, and Adam Almeida, and her grandchildren, Emma Almeida and Theodore Almeida; his nieces and nephews, Matthew St. Louis, Victoria St. Louis, Lauren Kipp, Jacob Kipp, and Michael St. Louis and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, June 5th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
