Luis R. "Debadoura" Costa, 88, of Fall River, husband of the late Maria Luisa (Pimentel) Costa, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel Remigio Costa and the late Alexandrina (Martins Pimentel) Costa, he emigrated to Fall River in 1968.

A mason by trade, Luis also worked for various local area companies including Stride Rite Shoe. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his grapes (making wine) and watching TV.

He is survived by: six children, Maria O. Estacio (husband Afonso) of Fall River, John P. Costa (wife Pauline) of Fall River, Ana Maria Medeiros (husband Arthur) of Assonet, Luis A. Costa (wife Tina) of Fall River, Mario Costa (wife Marcia) of Fall River, and Susan Gibeau of Fall River; one sister, Odilia Pavao of Somerset; fifteen grandchildren, Derrick Estacio, Dennis Estacio, Christopher Costa, Jeffrey Medeiros, Britney Medeiros, Stephanie Medeiros, Michael Costa, Matthew Costa, Shandi Costa, Scott Costa, Stacey Costa, Mary Haley Costa, Kenneth Rodrigues, Gary Rodrigues, and Cameron Galego; nine great grandchildren, Ethan, Gavin, Sydnie, Chloe, Sophia, Stella, Giavanna, Avin, and Devin (plus one more "on the way"); and several nieces & nephews. He was also the father of the late Stella Costa; and a brother of the late William Costa, Manuel Costa, Maria Tavares, Jaime Costa, and Bento Faria.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, May 13th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
