Luis F. Tabicas, 79, of Fall River, died February 21, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of Maria (Botelho) Tabicas, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose & Maria (Pereira) Tabicas. A Fall River resident since 1966, he worked in landscaping, most recently for R.I. Nurseries. Survivors include sons, Manuel Tabicas of No. Dartmouth, Louis Tabicas of Fall River, Jose Tabicas of No. Dartmouth and Virgil Tabicas of Westport; a daughter, Cidalia Pimentel of No. Dartmouth; a brother, Virgil Tabicas of Fall River; a sister, Maria Branco of Fall River, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Manuel Tabicas and Jose Tabicas. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers John Teixeira, Joe Torres, Steve Damaso, Steve Tabicas, Jeffery Pimental and Mike Tabicas brought Luis to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
