Luis "Felipe" Torres Medeiros, 84, of Fall River, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 22, 2018 after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Berta Medeiros who predeceased him in 2007. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio and Jorgelina (Torres) Medeiros. Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years in the maintenance department at the Foxboro Company, receiving several recognitions for his work ethic. In his younger years, he was a dairy farmer and also co-owner and operator of a small café in the city of Ponta Delgada. A very clever, strong-willed and honorable man, Luis instilled high morals and practical standards in his children. A Master storyteller, he so enjoyed recalling and delivering detailed accounts from many years ago. But most important to him was his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him much joy. He leaves: his loving children, Humberta St. Louis and her husband Paul, Luis R. Medeiros and his long-time companion Anna Paula, and Gracinha "Grace" Kipp and her husband William, all of Fall River; seven grandchildren, Matthew St. Louis and his wife Natalia of Cranston, Rhode Island, Brandon Medeiros, Victoria St. Louis, Lauren Kipp, Jacob Kipp, Jordon  Medeiros, and Michael  St. Louis, all of Fall River; a brother, Gil Torres and his wife Maria dos Santos of the Azores; his four sisters, Maria Costa (late husband Luis) and Aida Medeiros of Fall River and Gloria Calmeira (late husband Manuel) and Berta Calmeira (late husband Joao) of Toronto, Canada; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Antonio and Silverio Medeiros. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, November 28th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
