Luisa Barbosa, 95, of Fall River, wife of the late Carlos Manuel Barbosa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the Catholic Memorial Home after a long illness.
Born in Fenais da Ajuda, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Moreira Dutra and the late Maria do Rosario (Medeiros) Dutra.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years and was a member of the ILGWU. She leaves: her loving son, Mario J. Barbosa, and his wife, Maria, of Swansea; grandson, David Anthony Barbosa; her granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Barbosa; and nieces, Gabriela Alves and Manuela Mendes, both of New York. She was also the mother of the late Carlos Barbosa, sister of the late Graziela Medeiros, and aunt of the late Horacio, Mario, and Clemente Alves.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the entire staff of Unit 6 for the wonderful care she received while she was there.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 28th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Luisa's memory to: Catholic Memorial Home Activities Department, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA 02720
