Luiza S. Cabral, age 81, of Westport, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010, in Cape Coral, Florida. She was the widow of Edgardo C. Cabral. Born on the island of St. Michael in the Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Tome and the late Luiza (dos Santos) Tome. A resident of Westport since 1966, she was a hand stitcher, employed in the garment trade for many years at the former Darwood Manufacturing Co Inc and San-Toro Mfg Co. Luiza was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport and a member of the ILGWU, now UNITE. Surviving family members include her son, Edgardo J. Cabral of Westport, MA, her daughter, Fatima de Mota of Cape Coral, FL, a sister, Eduarda Vicente of Toronto, Canada, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Maria Julia Berenguer and the late Joaquim Tome. Her Funeral Mass was offered on Monday (May 3) at Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport followed by a committal service at St. Patrick Cemetery.
