Lydia (Borges) Campos, 95, wife of the late Charles L. Campos, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at the John Clarke Retirement Center in Middletown, RI with her family by her side. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Maria (Pacheco) Borges. Mrs. Campos was a member of BMC Durfee High School's graduating class of 1941. She had been a member of the Woman's Guild at St. Anthony of Padua, until moving to Tiverton, RI, where she became a member of St. Madeleine Sophie parish there. She enjoyed the Over the Hill Gang outings with her husband, sewing, cooking and reading - especially autobiographies. She was a very social person and loved to play Bingo. She leaves her daughter. L. Joyce Haley and her husband, Tom, of Tiverton; her granddaughter, Laura Clark and her husband, Shaun of New York City; a sister, Lucille Murphy of Tiverton; a sister-in-law, Edna Borges of Westport, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was, also, the sister of the late, Adelino "Pete" Borges of Westport. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 7th, in St. Barnabas Church in Portsmouth, RI, followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lydia's memory to Southcoast Visiting Nurse Hospice Care, 200 Mill RD., Suite 120, Fairhaven, MA 02719 in her memory.
