Obituary

Lynne M. (Massoud) Nasiff, of Fall River, wife of Peter J. Nasiff, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital Friday 6/12/15 unexpectedly after a short illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Ret. Maj. Alfred P. & Margaret A. (Monsour) Massoud. Lynne spent time in Japan and Panama, while her father was a career officer in the Army prior to settling in Fall River. Lynne resided in Westport for 28 years, moving back to Fall River in 2000. Lynne earned her Master's Degree in Rehabilitative Counseling at Assumption College, having attained her Bachelor's Degree in English from UMass Dartmouth and an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts at BCC. She was employed as a guidance counselor in the New Bedford School System for 25 years, retiring in 2009, and had enjoyed being a member of the Rosie's Group. After retiring, Lynne continued her passion for working with people, and was a career/academic counselor at BCC. Lynne was a communicant of St. Anthony of the Desert Church. She was a member and past president of the St. Anthony of the Desert Women's Guild, member and past president of the Lebanon American Ladies Auxiliary, and was on the scholarship committee of the Ladies Auxiliary. Lynne served as kitchen co-chair for the annual St. Anthony of the Desert Church bazaar, specializing in Arabic food. Lynne loved her grandchildren, the beach and spending time with her family and friends. Besides her husband, she leaves: a daughter, Bethany M. Simoes (husband David) of Fall River; 2 sisters, Noreen Burns (husband Thomas) & Phoebe Blackburn (husband James) both of Fall River; 2 grandchildren, Bella & David Jr; many nieces & nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, June 17th in St Anthony of the Desert Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
