Obituary

Mabel "Mae" (Vieira) Janusz, 95, passed away Saturday at the Somerset Ridge Center with her family by her side. Widow of Joseph Janusz (FRFD). Born in Plymouth, daughter of the late Louis and Evangelina (Amorin) Vieira. Mae devoted her life to raising her five daughters and grandchildren. Loving mother of Cynthia Azevedo (husband-John), Pauline Gagnon (husband-Roger), Maureen Robbie (husband-James), Ann Marie Marashio (husband-Richard) and Theresa Benevides (husband-Gregory). Devoted grandmother of Jennifer Azevedo-Andre, Jonathan Azevedo, Karla Pelarinos, Lauren Lerner, Elise Marashio, Attorney Eric Robbie, Adrienne Machado, Ryan Benevides and Jenna Deary. She adored her great grandchildren Tristan, Amelia, Alexander and the soon to be born "Mae"; sister of the late Olga Cabral, Phyllis Teixeira, Evangeline Mello, Louis and Antone Vieira. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Mabel was a kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend saying multiple rosaries every day for all. A charter member of Mended Hearts, she was also active in social and prayer groups at Lafayette Place. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Somerset Ridge Center where she resided for the last year. We will always be indebted to the Potterville Unit for the love, care and friendship they all provided to Mae and her daughters. Thank you will never be enough. Her funeral Mass was celebrated on May 7th, in St. Bernadette Church followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mae's memory to the Somerset Ridge Activities Fund, 455 Brayton Ave., Somerset, 02726 or a charity of your choice.
