Manuel V. Alexandre, 80, of Fall River, husband of Maria Jose (Oliveira) Alexandre, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Pilar Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Açores, son of the late Victorinho M. and Maria Helena (Aguiar) Alexandre, he emigrated to Fall River in 1972. He was a farmer in the Açores, and a landscaper with Schumacher of Natick for 19 years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, tending his vineyard, and listening to Portuguese folia music. Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by: children, Joseph Alexandre and Manny Alexandre both of Westport, Helen Oliveira and Anna Alexandre both of Fall River; grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Jenny & Joseph Alexandre, Andrew & Jordan Oliveira, Alexandre & Austin Medeiros; son-in-law, Jesse Oliveira; daughters-in-law, Laura Alexandre and Anesia Alexandre; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Jose Victorinho Alexandre, Conceicao Costa, Gloria Martins & Luisa Botelho. His funeral was offered on Saturday (11/17) in Espirito Santo Church. The celebrant was Father James Ferry. Committal Services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Alexandre, Andrew Oliveira, Alexandre Medeiros, Jose Alexandre, Victorino Martins and Jose Raposo.
