Manuel L. Almeida died Friday at home after a long illness at the age of 69. He was the husband of Armanda (Rodrigues) Almeida, with whom they shared 44 years of marriage. Mr. Almeida was born in Furnas, St. Michael and was the son of Maria Jose (Lima) and the late Manuel Almeida. Mr. Almeida had worked at G.W. Foundry for many years. He enjoyed going fishing and spending time with his friends and family, but enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters more than anything. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Scott Almeida and his two granddaughters Amaya and Kiara. He is also survived by his siblings, Maria Conceicao Pacheco (husband-Antonio) of Westport, Mariana Melo (husband-Lionel) of Dartmouth, Maria Jose Pereira (late husband-Jorge) of Spring Hill, Florida, Maria dos Anjos Correira (husband-Jose), Maria dos Espirito Santo Nunes (husband-Antonio) and Jose Almeida (wife-Guida) all of Fall River, and many nieces and nephews. He was the godfather of Kyle and Andrew. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 9th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
