Manuel "Barata" Botelho, 74, of Fall River, husband of Maria (Costa) Botelho, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Joaquim Medeiros and Urselina (Homen) Medeiros.

Prior to his retirement he was a machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. An avid Benfica fan, he also loved fishing, cooking, and the companionship of his beloved dog, Charlie. Most important to Manny was spending quality time with his family.

Besides his loving and devoted wife of forty-eight years, he leaves his two sons, Eduardo Botelho and his fiancé, Shannon Paradise, and Paulo Botelho, both of Fall River; his granddaughters, Vivianna Botelho and Dora Botelho; sisters, Rosa Correia, Eugenia Medeiros, Urselina Souza, Ana Furtado, Lebelia Lourencio, Encarnacao Medeiros, Margarida Barbosa, and Beatrice Pavao; his two brothers, Domingos Medeiros and Horacio Medeiros; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his cherished dog, Charlie. He was the brother of the late Antonio Messias Medeiros, Joaquim B. Medeiros, and Gil Medeiros.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 30th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
