Manuel C. Branco, better known as "Viera," 75, of Fall River, husband of Maria C. (Teixeira) Branco, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel V. Branco and the late Maria (Cabral) Branco, he emigrated to Fall River in 1962.
He worked at David's Fish Market for 25 years then was employed for a number of years with Globe Mfg – retiring in 1999. Manuel enjoyed gardening and was a big Red Sox fan, but mostly he loved spending time with his family.
Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by: a son, Danny Branco (wife Christine) of Fall River; two siblings, Gaudino Branco (late wife Suzana) of Fall River and Joseph Branco (wife Margaret) of Tiverton; three grandchildren, Kennedy Heneine (husband Joseph), Brittany Branco, and Cameron Branco; and many nieces and nephews. Manuel was also a brother of the late Alda Rezendes (late husband Victor).
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, June 17th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
