Manuel C. Branco, 82, of Somerset and formerly of Orange St. in Fall River, passed away at the Clifton Nursing Center on Monday. He was the husband of the late Maria "Lina" (Cabral) Branco. Born in Agua Retorta, Sao Miguel, Azores, son of the late Manuel Cidade and Rosa (Cabral) Branco. He grew up in Ponta Delgada before immigrating to Fall River in 1963, where he worked as a cabinet maker for A. Caponigro. Manuel was a long-standing member of the Don Carlos Club. He loved gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include daughters, Alda Araujo (husband – Danny) of Fall River and Ann Pereira (husband Candido) of Swansea; a son, Joseph Branco (wife – Marlene) of Fall River; brothers, Antero Cabral, Antonio Branco, Jose Branco and Gaudino Branco, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Kimberly, Cynthia, Jason, Shaun, Amanda and Andrew; great grandchildren, Juliana, Lina and Jeffrey; and several nieces and nephews. He was also grandfather of the late Daniel Araujo and brother of the late Maria V. Branco and Rosa Medeiros. His funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 14 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery.
