Manuel L. Costa, 69, of Fall River, husband of Mary Margarida (Marques) Costa, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 17, 2021, after a short illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, a son of Maria (Raposo) Costa of Fall River and the late Manuel da Costa, he emigrated to Fall River in 1966.

He was employed at the former Quaker Fabric for 30 years as a supervisor and had also worked for 12 years at the Stop & Shop warehouse. An active parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Church, he was a collector and would volunteer during feast time. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandson.

Besides his wife, of 48 years, and mother, he is survived by: a daughter, Nancy Costa of Fall River; two siblings, Joseph Costa (wife Janette) of Cranston, RI and Maria Connie Medeiros (husband Manuel) of Dartmouth; a grandson, Dion; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Nancy Costa.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 21st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
