Manuel D. "Manny D" Raposo, 58, of Fall River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, following a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Rolande (Couture) Raposo. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Francisco and Diamantina (Pavao) Raposo. Manny was a very active member of the St. Anthony Band Club, an avid Porto Soccer fan and enjoyed playing cards, pool and spending time with his family. A purveyor of tough love with a non-existant filter and a ton of sarcasm, he was a man of few words - but they were always memorable. Loving father of Stephanie Raposo, Ashley Raposo, Cheryl Moniz, Raquel Raposo, Jason Raposo and Erica Raposo, all of Fall River; brother of Natalia Melo and Lourdes Sousa, both of Fall River, Maria de Cue Silva of St. Michael, Azores and the late Helder Raposo; grandchildren, Reagan Raposo, Gage Reis and several other grandchildren; one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, December 30, in St. Mary Cathedral followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
