Manuel R. Faria, 101, of Fall River, formerly of Thomas St., passed away on Sunday, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Mariana Amelia (Soares) Faria. Born in Ajuda Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio and Mariana Oliveira. Manuel came to Fall River in 1966 and worked for Lisbon Construction. He enjoyed hunting and playing cards at the Senior Citizens Club on Pleasant St. Survivors include sons, Eduardo Faria (wife-Tereza) of Toronto, Canada, Manuel Faria (wife-Zulmira) of Fall River and Antonio Faria of Fall River; daughters, Maria Camara, Gloria Carvalho (husband-Jose), Leonilde F. Lopes (husband-Jose) and Libelia Santos (husband-Antonio), all of Fall River; 29 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Antonio and Luis Farias, Mariana Antonio, Maria Freitas, Beatriz Pacheco, Rosa Miranda, Margarida Rego and Sarina Pavao. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, February 2, in Espirito Santo Church followed by committal services at Notre Dame Cemetery.
