Manuel A. Ferreira, 81, of Fall River, husband of Esaura (Patricio) Ferreira passed away peacefully at home on Sunday. Born in St. Michael, Azores son of the late Feliciano and Valentina (DeViveiros). He was a laborer, retiring twenty years ago. Manuel had a strong faith and was involved in many church activities including participating in the religious procession, the"Romeiros". Over the years, he collected numerous beer steins. He was very handy around the house, repairing and modifying whatever needed attention. Manuel also enjoyed tending to his grapevine and working in his garden. Besides his wife, he leaves two children, Steve Ferreira (wife-Anne) of Lincoln, MA and Margaret Ferreira of Fall River; four grandchildren, Christopher (wife-Angie), Maria (husband-Tim),Elizabeth and Joseph. Eight great-grandchildren, Luis, Marinka, Izabella, Abigail, Mackenzie, Jake, Evelynn, and Gabriel; two great-great-grandchildren, Maribell and Antonio; three sisters, Margaret Medeiros of RI, Manuela Cordeiro of VA, Dinora Melo of FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Isabel Ferreira and brother of the late Feliciano"Fuji" Ferreira. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, September 1st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
