Manuel Antonio Miguel Ferreira, age 45, of Swansea, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 26, 2014. He was the husband of Nancy Ferreira and father of Jonathan Ferreira, Christopher Ferreira, Alexandra Ferreira, and the late Rafael Ferreira. Born in Roriz, Portugal, he was a son of Alexandrino Ferreira and Maria (Miguel) Ferreira of Roriz. A Swansea resident for ten years, he was a skilled auto mechanic and together with his wife, Nancy, they operated M&N Ferreira Bernardos Auto Repair and Sales on Stafford Road in Fall River. Manuel was a true handyman; he liked to tinker, and could fix anything. "Auto Mechanic" was more than a job description for him; he loved working on cars. He also enjoyed the great outdoors, and just being outside, although eventually you would find him in the yard working to improve it. Manuel also loved to travel with his family; he enjoyed the time spent traveling with his wife and children. Manuel was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church on Alden Street in Fall River. In addition to his wife, children, and parents, surviving family members include a sister, Fatima Cabral (husband Manuel) of Lisbon, Portugal, and a brother, Marcio Ferreira of Viseu, Portugal. He also leaves his father & mother-in-law Joao-Maria Ferreira and Maria Conceicao Ferreira of Lusinde, Portugal, his brother-in-law Jeffrey Ferreira (wife Anabela) of Fall River, and nieces and nephews Caleb & Devon Ferreira, Marta & Francisco Cabral and Filipe Ferreira. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 2, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
