Manuel M. Fragata of Westport, husband of the late Luisa (Oliveira) Fragata, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at St. Anne's Hospital at the age of 89.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Fernando Fragata of Fall River, Maria Viveiros of Westport, Goretti Arruda and her husband Joao of Four Oaks, North Carolina, Jose Fragata and his wife Maria C. of Dartmouth, Octavio Fragata and his wife Natalia of Longwood, Florida and Paula Fragata of New Bedford. He was also the beloved grandfather of 15 and the great grandfather of 7. He is preceded in death by his son, Joao Fragata.

Born in Mosteiros, Saint Michael, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria Gloria (Mota) Fragata. He was a finish carpenter with the Carpenters Local Union 94. Manuel enjoyed spending time with his family, watching soccer games and his passion was working with his hands, be it in his garden or in his workshop.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 24 th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
