Manuel "Pat" Gonsalves, Jr., 94, of Somerset, passed away Thursday after a short illness. Husband of Nora (Rua) Gonsalves. Born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel and Maria Gonsalves. A decorated WWII Army veteran, he was a Purple Heart recipient. Pat worked at the former Anderson Little Co. for 35 years. He was a member of the DAV, VFW and the Knights of Columbus, Tiverton Council where he participated in their bowling league. An avid golfer, he was a former member of Touisset Country Club. Brother of Lucy Latulippe and the late Joseph Gonsalves, Irene Torres, Valdmira and Mary Greeson and Agnes Mortarch. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 17th, in St. John of God Church followed by his cremation. His cremains were buried with military honors at Notre Dame Cemetery.
